Let’s pray with verses from Isaiah for our warriors today. Please insert the name of a certain person, or group, into the blanks:
Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
The Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and His understanding no one can fathom (Isaiah 40:28).
The source of all energy
and all understanding,
to You, Lord, we turn.
We pray for our warriors today.
May ______________ hear a voice behind him saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” whether he turns to the right or to the left. (30:21)
May ______________ find salvation in rest and repentance; may he find strength in quietness and trust. (30:15)
Please give strength to ________ when he is weary; increase his power when he is weak. (40:29)
May __________ find his hope in You. Please renew _____________’s strength. May he soar on wings like eagles; may he run and not grow weary; may he walk and not be faint. (40:31)
You took ____________ from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners You called him. You said __________ is Your servant. You have chosen __________ and not rejected him. May he not fear, for You are with him. May he not be dismayed, for You are his God.
Please strengthen _________ and help him; please uphold him with Your righteous right hand. (41:9-10)
When our warriors have stumbled, may they return to You. Please forgive them of their sins and draw them to You.
We pray for our hurting veterans. Please bring them through the hard times.
__________ is a bruised reed, please do not break him. He is a smoldering wick, but You will not snuff him out. (42:3)
When our deployed pass through the waters, God please be with them. May the rivers not sweep over them. When they walk through the fire, may they not be burned. May the flames not set __________ ablaze. For You are the Lord their God. 43:2-3
We pray for those who have a coming deployment. May You reign in their hearts and their homes. May there be peace.
We shout for joy
the heavens shout
the earth rejoices
For You will comfort __________
and have compassion on Your afflicted one. (49:13)
May ___________ go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
May the mountains and the hills burst into song before him
and all the trees of the field clap their hands. (55:12)
Lord, it is You who stretches out the heavens like a canopy
You who holds the dust of the earth in a basket
You who brings out the starry host
You are enthroned above the earth;
we come to You with all gratitude and hope.
Thank You!
Amen.
