What Are You Seeking?

Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, “What are you seeking?” John 1:38a

What are YOU seeking? Isn’t this the million dollar question? If we could be asking this question every moment of every day, in every circumstance, I believe we would walk in great spiritual victory. Why? Because we would be identifying and rejecting false desires and trading them in for the One who satisfies, guides, and saves.

Try it right now.

Think of a perplexing circumstance in life and ask God to show you if you are seeking after second-place desires. Matthew 6:33 tells us “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you.”

Here’s the encouragement: God is also seeking us.

John 4:23 tells us what God is seeking. Read it thoughtfully:

“But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.”

Let’s add this good question, “What am I seeking?” to our inner monologue and decide (did you know decide means “to cut”?) and to be kingdom seekers and true worshippers every moment of every day.
