We all know what a struggle it can be for military spouses to find friends. Join Michelle as she prays for those connections in this week’s Sunday Prayer.
Prayer for Military Spouses to Find Friends
by Michelle Hieb
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your love. Thank you for being God who sees and hears. Thank you for caring so much that you give us family and friends to be in relationship with.
Although, we confess that with the frequent moves, it gets tiring and hard to start over. We worry that this time there won’t be anyone who wants to be our friend. As wives and mothers, we deceive ourselves into thinking we can just pour ourselves into our spouse, children, and work.
Yet, over and over you prove faithful to provide. Holy Spirit move in us and give us strength to step out and seek new relationships, even as we know one day our hearts will hurt again with earthly goodbyes and “see you laters.” Help us to be obedient to your call to continue meeting together with fellow believers. (Hebrews 10:25)
Lord, through these relationships, use us to dispel the spirit of suicide that has invaded our ranks. Help us to encourage and be encouraged that you will be glorified.
In Jesus Name.
Amen.
