For this week’s Sunday Prayer, join Denise in this prayer for the wavering spouse, that God would strengthen her faith.
To the Spouse who May Be Wavering
by Denise Jolly
Lord,
We come to you as the bride who is new and has been walking beside you for years and for the one who may be doubting their identity in you.Â
We claim growth, Lord, for your daughters. Growth that can be found in community, time with our husbands, and in the still moments when we think no one can see our tears.Â
We crave, Lord, the spirit of growth that can only be given and ordained by you. The growth that bears fruit and flourishes because it has been planted by you, Father.Â
We pray today for the ones who need the village and community to grow. Lord bless those friendships, and mentorships to come.Â
Let it be a vine that springs forth.Â
Our prayer, Lord, for these women is that this growth can be taken into our communities and that we can truly be those cities on a hill because we have sought you in this season of growth.Â
That those around us see you, Lord, shining in the growth and have no doubt our light comes from you.Â
Most of all we pray for those who have stumbled and find themselves wondering what’s to come. We ask that you would scoop them up out of the much and mire and place their feet on the firm foundation, your son, Jesus Christ.
Bless them abundantly with all that will bring them growth through you. Establish them so firmly, Lord, that they will not be shaken. That they will remain a firmly planted tree from which you will forever grow ripe and ready fruits.Â
Amen.
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”
