He wants to encourage you to share your talents and remember His love.
He is NOT jealous of you, He is jealous FOR you.
What takes your focus away from God?  For me it can be the TV, for some it is the gym.  One of my friends has said that she “loves going to her gym”.  I am not a big gym fan but I know staying in shape is important.  But working out and focusing on the gym to the point of addiction is also a form of idolatry. Studying the Bible sometimes take second place to watching TV or pursuing other hobbies. Anything that we focus on more than God can become idols in our lives.
Qanna wants us to give up our idols.  When we moved from South Carolina to Texas I was recovering from a broken leg and I had a hard time moving around.  But I had proudly declared that “I will NEVER give up PWOC.” Sounds spiritual doesn’t it?  Qanna saw my heart and my ministry in the chapel had become an idol.  He made me give up that idol and instructed me to not attend any chapel program for four months after I moved.  He wanted me to give up that idol, to put my focus on Him.
I thought I had learned to not have idols before God.  Alas I am in a new season of learning to listen to Qanna.  “I will never…”  has become my new idol. “I will never go to an off post church” “I will never choose to separate from my husband during a PCS” etc…  “I will never live off post (or on post)”.  I have many more “I will never” statements in my heart.  Â
Temporal things that are lost or destroyed during a move or a storm are replaceable. In the midst of those times Qanna reminds me that hearts are what are important. Â Â Â
Our God is a jealous God. He wants us to focus on Him without conditions and without worries. Â He loves us so much that He wants to become better. Â Idols separate us from Him and He wants to remove them. Â What is Qanna asking you to change?
God is jealous for us, for our attention.

- What areas of your life have become an idol?
- Who in the Bible was asked to give up lots of things, beside Jesus?
- As you think about Qanna being jealous, what do you feel and why?

Daily Reflections
Day 1: Removing Idols – God is jealous of your focus.
Read and memorize: Exodus 20:5-6
Spend some time asking God to show you the idols in your life. Â Where is your focus today? Â What is distracting you from God? Â What areas of your life are out of synch where God wants you to be? Â Â What can you say say no to or yes to?
Day 2: Moderating Extremes – God is jealous of your time.
Read Deuteronomy 4:23-24
Look at your extremes today. Â Are you spending too many hours on the couch? On the computer? At the gym? Â Look at your schedule and see where you can spend time with God. Â There are many books out there about God and prayer and commentaries about The Bible. Â The best book to spend time with is the Bible. Â You can download an audio copy so that if you need to get off the couch you can listen as you move. Â If you need to get off the computer, pick up an actual Bible and read it. Â If you need to cut back at the gym, spend time with God before heading out at your usual time.
Day 3: Sharing Blessings – God is jealous for your giving.
Read John 13:34-35
Whatever season you are in, moving or staying, spend some time praying over who to share God’s blessing with.  Share some food from your freezer or pantry before the moves come with a soup kitchen near you.  Make some food for new neighbors.  Call a friend for coffee or have her over to your not perfectly clean house.  What friendship is Qanna asking you to invest in?  Someone nearby or a friend who has moved away?
Day 4: Using talents – God is jealous for your gifts.
Read 1 Corinthians 12:27-31
Qanna is jealous of your talents too.  Where can you serve?   What is your talent? Maybe watching someone else’s children so their mom can shop alone.  What about helping out with teens in a youth group or reading to little ones during service. Â
Day 5: Remembering Love – God is jealous for your affection
Read Psalm 46:10
