Freedom and Liberty are more than mere words. They have been the catalyst for revolutions, insurrections, and all kinds of shenanigans that cause people to fight to the death if need be.
These words pack more power in places where it seems the idea of freedom is impossible and liberty is just a ridiculous thought. But, to those of us who believe, freedom and liberty are as commonplace as a wrap on a cool evening; it makes sense and its use is easy to come by.
We celebrate freedom in small ways every single day. Freedom is what God has delivered you for.
It was for this freedom that Christ set us free [completely liberating us]; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery [which you once removed]. Galatians 5:1 AMP
But, it is an ongoing act that brings us to the mission of liberty. Liberty is freedom to do what is right. It’s the power that drives the grateful heart of freedom. Once free to do what you want, liberty brings with it the desire to do what is right.
We are freed for a purpose!
God has a purpose and a plan for every believer. Don’t waste your freedom. Search, discover what God has freed you for, and get to work.
Today we celebrate freedom and liberty as a nation. But, more importantly, will you celebrate as a believer who has been set free?
Today let’s focus on Jesus, allowing others to see our hearts that have been set free.
In the Navy, when you take a day off without it being charged to your leave time they call it “liberty.” Meaning you have a day off with no charge. Free to do whatever you want. So, believers, take a day of “liberty” – it’s no charge because Christ has set you free!
